Kampen - a beautiful city

We have now visited twice in the city of Kampen. There are really good feelings and memories about the area. This is a place we can recommend for everybody to visit and spent some time.

Kampen locates in the eastern corner of Ijesselmer. It is a beautiful old Hanseatic city. Between 1250 and 1450 Kampen grows into one of the most important commercial cities of the Netherlands. There are ca. 50 000 people living in the area nowadays. The city has idyllic old downtown just beside the flowing river. You can feel the warm and open atmosphere by walking on the streets and visiting the local small shops.

The restaurants are really good with excellent.service. In case you end up to Kampen you must test for example the Pepper Mill in the down town. You can find also really good food from the following address "IJsselkade 61 Oudestraat 183".

Next week will fly to Amsterdam and there from take a train to Kampen. We will stay there couple of days to prepare the boat for the sailing trip. It will be nice opportunity to stay there and enjoy about the old Hanseatic city's atmosphere.
